Emperor Qin Orders Construction on Great Wall
246 B.C. The Peking Press 236-534 B.C.
Emperor
Qin has commanded the starting of a great wall that separates the
mongols from us, the Chinese. He orders all peasants and craftsman to
work on the wall for him.The situation here is that emperor Qin wants
to build the wall so he can keep all the invaders out of the country.
That has been an issue that our enemies keep invading the country. this
happening is near Xianyang China in 246 B.C. All this happened because
emperor Qin wanted to have a gigantic wall that would keep invaders and
enemies out of his country.
What
happened before the wall started was that emperor Qins country was
being invaded by enemies and he was not going to keep letting it happen
so he wanted to build a huge wall that would keep them out. Emperor Qin
got people to work on the wall by forcing the peasants and craftsmen.
He would kill the people if they didn’t work on the wall. Emperor Qin’s
plan is working.
A craftsman said “I don’t like working on the wall because it is too
much work, bad conditions, and too many people have died already.”
A peasant said “I want to serve Emperor Qin and I would do anything for him.”

The Great wall,Is It Really Great?
In this event emperor Qin ordered all peasants and craftsman to work on the great wall. A lot of people died when working on the great wall.They died of disease and even of exhaustion. Emperor Qin Was very smart to build the great wall.Emperor Qin should keep working on the great wall because people will invade the country if he doesn’t.
Emperor Qin didn’t want any invaders in his country so he started to build the great wall. In total 700,000 people worked on the great wall. When the great wall was first started it was built during the spring and autumn period and warring states period during the 8th century BC through the 3rd century BC. The length of the great wall is 5,500 miles long.
Some
of the peasants that worked on the wall think that Emperor Qin should
not build the great wall. People will disagree because they think it is
not a good idea to build the great wall. Also they think that we are
keeping everyone in China and they have no chance to explore the
outside world. A lot of people died while making the wall so the
workers would disagree with us. The opposing opinion is wrong because
they think we don’t need a big wall and protection is more important
than freedom and freedom is not free.
it is very smart to build the great wall because it will protect the
people of china and it will protect me. Nobody in china wants invaders
to come into the country and I don’t either. I am very happy that the

In
the map that shows the Qin dynasty it is highlighted red and the rest
of china is normal beige color. The area that shows the Qin dynasty it
is very small compared to modern china.The Qin dynasty is in the bottom
right corner of the map on the ocean border. The modern map of china
has increased on the all the sides from the bottom, the sides, and the
top of the map. According to the map key, the Qin dynasty is about
1500km on the map. The modern map of china has increased by about
2500km on the map.

The Chinese language posed an obstacle to the unification of the empire.There was different dialects spoken in different places so there was no single accepted way to write the language. Qin burned books that were written by scholars because they were written about Confucianism and he didn’t believe in that. Qin believed in Legalism. Qin unified the writing system. The only books that were not forbidden, are writings about medicine, herbs, divining and agriculture. There were inscriptions on steles that Qin had built, shows the confucian thinking.
The emperor himself was very interested in daoist practices to extend his life or to gain immortality. He sent out an expedition to search for the islands of immortality called penglai. generations of scholars tried to find out what country was meant with penglai. After the reign as the first emperor, he changed the official color to black according to the theory of the five elements and their cosmic.
A comprehensive anthology of philosophical thinking around 250 BC is the spring and Autumn collection of master Lushi Chunqiu compiled by the chancellor Lu Buwei.

This belief allowed Qin to rule the population from a centralized power structure and proved a very effective way to govern. Qin created a uniform written language, allowing for greater communication. The script allowed scholars to share information to a greater number of people. A single language allowed the later dynasties to communicate with nomadic tribes and pass along information on how to negotiate or fight with them.
One of the main religions in ancient china during the Qin dynasty was Taoism. Taoist ceremonies were held for worship and religious purposes. In Taoism people believe in opposites like there would be no love without hate. Taoism became one of the three great religions in china.
